A Project funded by the Ford Foundation Difficult Dialogues Initiative
Public ForumsEach semester during the Ford Foundation funding period, we will hold one campus-wide interactive theatre performance and one public forum. Chancellor Brady Deaton will sponsor the campus-wide public forums through the Chancellor's Global Issues Forums. The Global Issues Forums will address controversial topics to coincide with classroom activities. Chancellor's Global Issues ForumWhat's Happened to Academic Freedom Since September 11? This forum is co-sponsored by the Chancellor's Office and the MU Difficult Dialogues project, which is funded by a Ford Foundation grant. Dr. Robert M. O'Neil, Director of the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression and president emeritus of the University of Virginia, will give a 30-minute lecture, leaving the remaining time for discussion with panelists and audience members. |
